Back in the 1980’s, seeing a carved gold leaf sign in our area was a rarity, however, carved signs were prominent near Earl’s sign shop in Lancaster, PA. Therefore, we gathered our chisels and mallets and helped to introduce this popular type of high-end signage here. Presently, many of our competitors produce incised (carved) signs with their computers, routers, and other assorted machines. However, we are still joyfully carving them by hand. This technique instinctively allows us to change both thickness and angle of each letter for maximum legibility.
